Serene Scalp Oil Control Shampoo

I've used quite a few oil-controlling shampoos in my time but this stuff really takes the cake! I get pretty oily this time of year, especially inbetween washes, so having a product that instantly restores my bouncy waves to a luscious matteyfying bounce was shocking and appreciated. Using this shampoo along with the Serene Scalp Mist is a duo that truly holds up to the namesake! It smells great and feels so clean after you rinse it out. I highly recommend! 5/5

I received this product from @influenster and @oribe for free for my honest review. I really do like the shampoo and it’s very light smelling like peppermint and lathers up so good you only need a small amount. I feel like the directions could have been a little easier to explain or maybe it should have been paired with conditioner. it doesn’t say whether you use it still or not. I used a very small amount at the bottom of my hair so I wouldn’t make it oily. It’s definitely keeping my hair cleaner and less oily. my 17 year old has only had to wash her hair every 4 days or so. I received this as a free product in exchange for my honest review on Influenster and Sephora from the Oribe Team. The packaging for this product is super nice as well and doesn’t feel flimsy. Also leak-proof! I love the scent on this shampoo, it’s subtle and doesn’t stick too much. Wished Oribe was able to replicate the fragrance on the shampoo for the Oil Control Treatment Mist. When using this, a small amount goes a long way. I like how it’s smooth, easy to lather and massage into hair and just the right amount of sud! My only complaint is that it can leave my hair feeling dry/coarse when washing out. Cleans my hair but I wished it was paired with a recommended conditioner or came with conditioner itself to actually see the results. Overall would recommend if you have oily hair. I used this with Redken Extreme Conditioner and my hair feels smooth. Could feel more silky, but at least it does control oil well.

*I received this complimentary product for testing purposes* I love the purple packaging, it is stunning! I use 90% Oribe products daily, so I was very excited to try this! I have very oily hair, and am a dry shampoo queen. The smell is heavenly & the consistency is easy to lather. I did notice it felt a bit heavy, almost like there was buildup & not as “clean” at the root as I prefer once I rinsed my hair. Once my hair was dry I did feel less oily by my roots & my hair/scalp wasn’t oily like it normally is by the morning (I shower at night). I feel like this is one of those products that has to be used regularly & you will notice a difference over time. I will continue to use. Oribe never disappoints!!!

The oribe serene scalp oil control shampoo is AMAZING! I was so excited when I received this product free to test. The smell of this shampoo is great, I loved using it. I have oily hair and have to wash my hair almost every day, I’ve noticed with using this I can wash every other, maybe even every three days. It definitely is a higher price point for shampoos but I feel like it’s worth it especially with the scalp spray! Lastly the packaging is beautiful, I looked forward to seeing the stunning purple bottle in my shower. I highly recommend this shampoo for oily hair!

I have used multiple types of shampoo from Oribe, and this will be my new go-to shampoo! I combined it with the Gold Lust Conditioner that I already have from Oribe as well as the Serene Scalp Oil. On average, it has added 24 hours to my hair wash routine, which is a big deal because I have thin hair that gets greasy fairly quickly. The smell is more of a faint Oribe smell, but still has the signature scent lightly. The price may seem high, but it’s worth it if you end up washing your hair less (which is healthier anyways!!)

I was lucky enough to receive this item for free in exchange for an honest review from Influenster. I personally don’t like to give poor reviews, but I truly have to with this item. It’s an oil control shampoo but it truly made my hair more greasy. I am the type of person that washes their hair daily. On days off I will sometimes just throw my hair up and not wash it - to give it a rest. Since using this shampoo my hair is actually greasy by the end of the night. This is completely abnormal for me. Typically I can borderline get away with one day without washing if I keep it dry, but with this I can’t even get 18 hours without having to wash it again. And it looks greasy - hair separating into streaky chunks. I’m sad to have to say this item just did not work for me.

There are many things I love about this shampoo. I love the texture and light but luxurious scent. The bottle is so beautiful. But while this shampoo did leave my hair soft and clean, I don’t believe it helped me much for oil control. When I used without the corresponding mist, my hair ended up greasy as normal. Only when I used the mist did my hair seem less greasy than normal over the course of the day. (I tried both together and separate.)
